Our Story

River City Fellowship was birthed in March of 1989. As a staff, we visited Kansas City Fellowship, which is now called the International House of Prayer and is currently one of the forerunners of the prayer movement in America. In our visit, God called us to begin to implement the 6/12/6 format (prayer at 6am, noon, and 6pm) that Mike Bickle had installed in that church.

Between the years 2000 and 2004, River City realized that the core of our spiritual destiny was worship and prayer.
We began praying every night and the more we prayed, the more we wanted to pray.
We started to transition from being a church to a house of prayer, and on June 8, 2005, we began praying at a property in downtown San Antonio.  We knew the location was strategic:  bring the Heart of Father to the heart of the city and pray for transformation.

Our current location is 417 8th Street off Broadway in downtown San Antonio.
We have volunteers taking some time each week to join hearts with this prayer movement and fill the atmosphere
with prayer and worship for our city, state, nation, and the nations of the earth for transformation.
